Brake Hose

CLEARING HYDRAULIC BRAKE HOSE
Some of the earlier Model D18S Beechcrafts, Serials A-1 to A-68 inclusive, had the brake hoses routed along the torque knees at the front of the struts. In some instances, the hoses rubbed against the front of the landing gear wheel well. If this condition exists on your airplane and it is chafing the brake lines, it may be remedied by moving the brake hose clamps located on the "Y" brace of the landing gear strut down approximately 1-1/4 inches. Turn the clamp to allow clearance between the brake hoses and bolt in the landing gear door linkage bracket. After this change has been accomplished, the airplane should be raised enough so the struts will be in the fully extended position. Check the brake hoses to be sure they are not too tight or binding.
